2 birthdays, 2 Thanksgiving dinners, and Christmas lights

My dad and my brother's birthday were both the same week as Thanksgiving this year.  We went to my brother's house for some yummy desserts at the beginning of the week. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Michael and Amanda's on Thursday.  Rock (and Amanda) made us cute turkey visors to wear during dinner. Friday we went to Grandpa Mayne's house for a second Thanksgiving. On Saturday we went to Red Iguana for lunch for my dad and Laura's birthday. Later Saturday evening we went to see the lights at Temple Square with Grandpa Mayne, Lucian, Kolten, and Talan.  We figured this would probably be the best day because the weather is still pretty warm (high of 50), and I'm sure it will turn colder really soon. Lots of people had that same idea, and Temple Square was super crowded. This week was busy but filled with fun activities and yummy food.

Handsome Boys

These are my handsome boys getting ready for church.

9 Months Old

Jace is 9 months old!  He learned a lot of new things this past month.  He can clap his hands (it is seriously so adorable), pick up food with his thumb and index finger and get it into his mouth (also so adorable), and turn the pages in a book with his left hand (seriously could he get any cuter?).  He is starting to imitate sounds that we make.  He tries to wave- kind of- it looks like he is flapping his arm. He is fascinated by his hands.  He stares at them while he spreads his fingers, or makes a fist, or turns his wrist.  It is interesting to watch, and I wish I knew what he was thinking. He still doesn't crawl.  He rolls around the floor to get places he wants to go.  He won't really put weight on his arms, but I think he is getting close.  He also recently started to scissor is legs up and down when he's laying on his back. He does not sleep through the night.  He still wakes up a couple times a night to eat.  I'm so tired and some days I feel like I'm losing years off my life due to no sleep.  I've been having fun thinking about Christmas and starting family traditions with Jace this year.

Some of these pictures are a little blurry because he is so wiggly.  We couldn't get him to hold still, but they still turned out pretty cute.

Raking Leaves and Silly Faces

We went over to Grandma Karen's to help a little bit in her yard.  Luckily, her neighbor had taken most of her leaves for his compost pile so we didn't have as much to do as usual.  The other pictures are Jace learning to stick out his tongue at Aunt Amanda's.  All pictures are courtesey of Aunt Amanda.

Happy Halloween!

It was so fun to have Halloween with Jace.  Amos had the day off work so we took Jace to my school parade (technically I didn't have to be there because I don't work in the morning, but I thought the students would enjoy seeing my family).  It was during part of Jace's nap time but I thought he would be stimulated enough to stay awake.  I was wrong! He fell asleep on Amos while we were watching the students go past, before we had even started to be in the parade.  He spent the whole parade laying against Amos's chest.  I forgot to take a picture of that, but I think someone at school did who will e-mail it to me hopefully.  Later that night we started the tradition of having pizza for dinner on Halloween.  Then we went trick or treating!  We only went to about 5 houses since Jace can't walk, talk, or eat candy.  We went to some neighbors/friends in the neighborhood.  Then we went to a co-worker/friend's house to see his new house.  We wanted to take a picture of his baby with Jace at school, but they were asleep so we couldn't.  We took a picture later, but Cooper wasn't in his costume anymore.

Also, Jace recently started growling- which is adorable!
