4 months

Our sweet little boy is 4 months old.  He likes to stand, play with toys and put them in his mouth, smile, and laugh.  He still has to be swaddled to sleep.  If not, he takes his pacifier out of his mouth and sucks aggressively on his fingers.  Then he gets frustrated that he can't fall asleep.  He likes to sleep in our arms still as well.  Last week he rolled onto his tummy while sleeping for the first time.  He still hasn't been able to roll all the way over when he isn't swaddled though because his arm gets stuck.  Anywhere we take him, people comment on what a beautiful, perfect looking baby he is and I totally agree!  At the doctor we found out that he weighs 13 pounds 2 ounces and is 25.5 inches tall.  That put him at 64th percentile for height and 16th percent for weight.  I guess I have a tall skinny boy.  I wonder where he got that from?  When he smiles at us his eyes light up.  We just love him so much.

Pictures from Aunt Amanda

Amos and Aunt Amanda watched Jace during the day when I had to go back to work for 19 days before summer break.  Here are a few pictures from her house.  She actually got him to smile for the camera.

Here is Rock and Jace listening to Grandma Karen read stories.

A few different things

I forgot to take pictures of Jace with Amos on his first Father's Day.  I did take a picture of them that weekend taking a nap together.

We had both our dads and some siblings over for a barbeque at the park.  It turned out well.  Jace made Amos a sign that said, "Happy Father's Day to the world's greatest 'Pop!'"  With the sign he gave him Pop Tarts, Corn Pops, soda pop, Pop Rocks, popcorn, and a Ring Pop.  We went to Kneader's on Saturday morning because they had free french toast for fathers. Amos is a very good dad. He plays with, reads to, and sings to Jace all of the time.  He can get Jace to fall asleep in his arms anywhere- even a loud baseball game.  He gobbles up Jace's tummy, which makes Jace squeal in delight.  I also hear him explaining things like electricity and lots of other topics to Jace.  He even makes up songs for him.

On Friday, Amos took the day off and we did some fun activities.  First, we took Jace swimming for the first time.  We went with Missy, Truman, Nan, and Jaden.  Jace seemed to like it.  He stayed in the water for a long time just looking around.  He didn't smile or splash though.  Maybe next time.  While we were there a couple of our neighbors/good friends showed up.  We took a picture with the husbands and the kids.

Jace was tired after swimming and took a nap in his stroller.

Later that night, we took Jace to his first baseball game.  It was Teacher Appreciation Night.  My mom had the idea to go since we could go for free.  We also invited Amos's dad since he could go for free as well.  The weather was perfect.  Jace wore a very cute baseball outfit.  He likes people watching and new surroundings so he had a good time.  We had to leave early because it was way past bed time and he was getting fussy.

I still can't get Jace to smile at me while I'm holding the camera.  He just stares at the camera or at me.  It's too bad because he has an adorable smile!
