15 months old

Jace's 15 month doctor appointment was today.  He was 19.2 lbs and 31.5 inches tall.  That was 1st percent for weight and 55th percent for height.  Skinny little guy.  He still isn't walking.  He could if he wanted to. He likes to walk with his walking toy and holding our hands.  He can stand just fine.  He just won't try it on his own.  The doctor said his picky eating sounded more like an 18 month old.  He also said the amount of words Jace says sounds close to a typical 2 year old. He asked if Jace said 2-3 words.  We thought he meant in sentences, but he just meant total.  We told him that he says a lot of words and is even starting to put together two word phrases.  I am going to type a list of words he says so I can remember when he gets older (Of course, many of these words aren't said correctly yet, but he says them consistently for a word.). He says: light (light on), on, off, stretch, window, closet, binky, blankie, TV, car, ball, shoot, hoop, fork, spoon, tray, plate, cup, bowl, drink, water, milk, garage, stroller, arm, belly, toes, hands, nose (he says "boop" for nose ... ha ha), ear, hair, hat, knee, teeth, apple (he also says that when he point to Amos's Adam's apple...ha ha), cracker, cheese, cheerio (he says cheerio many times a day), grass, mess (he says this even if I just spilled one drop of water), book, the end, there go (there ya go), see ya, bye bye, hi, kiss, hug, frog, quack quack, tweet tweet, doggy, kitty cat, fishy, balloon, cookie, kite, keys, door, open, close, tree, phone (sounds like home), home, flag, stairs (he loves climbing the stairs), star, toys, walk, walking, shoes, socks, toot, pee pee, poo poo, beep beep (for car or turn around), bath, towel, cold, hot, peephole, tractor, eat, up, down, show, baseball, clock, wobble, spin, mail, pants, bounce pass, bubble, pop, bicycle, motorcycle, truck, brush, pink pick, thank you, peas please, cheese please, shoot hoop, Jace, flower, pretty (I think he thinks that is what a necklace is called), bottle, chair, piano, wind, windy, rain, rainbow, mommy, daddy, and that's all I can think of.  These are words that he knows and says without help.  He also will try and say almost anything we ask him to.  I am trying to get him to say "Love ya" back to me right now. I'm hoping that his ability to communicate pretty well will lead to less tantrums as he gets older, but that might just be wishful thinking on my part.  As of right now he is usually just a sweetheart who is always smiling, laughing, and curious about things.  He likes it when Amos tackles and wrestles him.  He crawls away, then pats his stomach and looks at Amos to show he wants Amos to come get him and wrestle him.

Zoo

We went to the zoo with Michael, Amanda, and Rock in March.  Jace loved it!  He kept clapping when Amos held him up to the glass near the monkeys.  He called the monkeys "doggies" and the sea lions and seals "fishies."  It was super cute.  I thought he would like the carousel more than he did.  He didn't really like riding by himself, but he did like when we rode together on the non-moving peacock.  We definitely want to take him back.

Family Pictures

When my brother and his family came to visit in February we tried to get some good pictures of the grandkids together on Grandma Karen's couch.  Let's just say it is harder than it seems to get 4 children to sit on a couch, look at a camera, and smile.
