5 Months

Violet is 5 months old! She now likes to grab toys and put them in her mouth to suck on.  She still likes to suck on her fingers.  We have tried giving her baby food.  She doesn't quite know what to do.  We have to kind of pour the food into her mouth.  She swallows some of it and pushes some of it out.  It is very messy and very different from Jace's first time eating baby food.  She isn't as fussy in the car.  She still takes short cat naps most of the time (4- 30 min. naps).  Her night sleeping isn't consistent.  Sometimes she sleeps for a long chunk at night and other times she wakes up 2-3 times.  I can't predict what the night will bring.  She did a real laugh for the first time yesterday.  Jace ran in before his bath and showed us his bum, and Violet unexpectedly started laughing pretty hard.  I had Jace keep running in over and over for about 10 minutes and she kept laughing every time. She likes her baths and has started splashing. Jace is constantly wanting to squish her legs. Jace wanted me to take pictures of him too.  He kept telling me he wanted to "photo bomb" her, even though I am not sure he knows what that is.

Halloween

Around Halloween was a very fun time for our family.  We painted and carved pumpkins, decorated sugar cookies with Grandma Karen, went to Grandma Mayne's work for lunch and trick or treating, and went trick or treating in our neighborhood.  Jace told everyone he was a "fierce dinosaur" and Violet was a sweet butterfly.  Amos won't admit it, but he makes the cutest sugar cookies.  His decorating skills are far above mine.
