8 Months Old

Jace turned 8 months old today. Some cute new things he started doing this month include scratching his belly, making a puckered lip face, kicking both his legs at the same time while on his belly, and rolling all around the floor.  He is making lots of sounds.  Sometimes it seems like he is trying to imitate the words we are saying.  We love tickling him.  Amos lays his head on Jace and acts like Jace is his pillow.  Jace thinks it is so funny.  He laughs and tries to grab Amos's nose and poke his eyes. He makes us smile all day long. He still isn't sleeping through the night.  Amos and I are tired a lot, but we are very happy.

Painting Pumpkins

Last week Amos had surgery on his nose for a deviated septum.  The surgery was rough. Amos had lots of side effects that we weren't planning on. It was hard on Jace, which we weren't expecting.  Jace is used to having his dad come in and smile at him, play with him, hug him, etc.  Jace would smile at Amos, and Amos wasn't really able to smile, talk, or anything to him.  It was really sad.  Plus, Jace probably thought Amos looked like a monster with the gauze on his face. Jace got really clingy.  One day he cried when Amos walked out of the room and when I went to get socks.  He started waking up a bunch at night.  I felt so bad. When Amos started feeling a little better he spent a couple of afternoons bonding with Jace.  One of those days they painted pumpkins while I was at work. These pumpkins turned out way better than if I would have painted them.  Amos is so crafty.  Notice he painted one of the pumpkins to look like Jace's onesie.  It says, "I love my mummy."

Wheeler Farm

We went with Grandma Karen, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Michael, and Rock to Wheeler Farm for some October festivities.  We saw some animals, went on a wagon ride, went through a straw maze, and picked out a pumpkin.  Jace seemed to really like the wagon ride, and he absolutely loved the hay.  He was grabbing at it while we were in the the maze.  We had a hard time getting him to look up for pictures because he was too busy pulling at the hay and putting it in his mouth.  The weather was great for being outside.  We are so excited to do this again next year when Jace will be able to run around.

Hangin with Rock

Our first time babysitting Rock was on Friday.  We had so much fun at the park, dancing at home, and getting icecream.
