St. George
My dad and Laura gave us a few night's stay at their time share in St. George. We drove down on Monday after Amos got off work. Violet did not like the drive there. She fussed, cried, and screamed for between one and two hours. On Tuesday we went to Snow Canyon and hiked to some lava tubes. It is like a cave made out of lava rock. I was impressed that Jace would climb down into these tunnels/caves. He did most of it by himself. He hiked and climbed the whole time while Amos carried Violet in a hiking backpack. Later that day we went swimming. It was Violet's first time and she seemed to like it. We went to dinner at a local Mexican place called Don Pedro's. On Wednesday we hiked a short hike to some real dinosaur tracks. It was a red sand path. Jace had a hard time on the way back up. Jace said he was "endurancing," and he did it! Jace and Amos went swimming again. We went to see the St. George temple and visitor center. Then we walked around main street and went to dinner at a restaurant called George's Corner Restaurant. After that we found an outdoor carousel that we rode on and a cool splash pad. The splash pad had a shallow stream part you could walk around. Amos made a buddy that followed him around. You can see him in one of our pictures. We also saw some original pioneer homes. On Thursday we climbed around some red rocks at a place called Pioneer Park. Then we drove home. The way back was bad for Violet also. Jace is so great in the car. I didn't even bring anything for him to do. He just likes to look at cars, scenery, clouds, talk to us, listen to music, and eat snacks. We missed the 70-80 degree weather when we got back and it was 48 degrees and raining here.
