Bear Lake

We had a blast at Bear Lake this past week.  We kicked off the week with a "Thinking Society" meeting for women.  We read a self-help book about how to be happy.  They also had a baby shower for Violet and me.  We got a super soft blanket, violet jammies, a pink coat, swaddlers, bibs, a gift card, and some money.  Then we had a family dinner and family picture with our matching Bear Lake shirts. Finally we had the family talent show.  We wanted Jace to read a book or show the picture of his Tball team and tell about playing Tball.  He went up to the microphone, told the title of his book, then became shy and wouldn't do anything. He wouldn't even talk about Tball.  At Bear Lake, Jace loved digging in the sand and building sand castles.  He really liked playing with Talan and Kolten.  We took him on the wave runner a couple of times, and he went on the boat and tube with Amos. Amos took Jace in a kayak, and I tried a paddle board.  Violet got to hang out on the beach under the shade canopy.  She had a different swimsuit for each day thanks to Aunt Mem giving us her girls' hand-me-downs. We went to La Beau's a couple of times for yummy shakes (Met up with Missy and her family the night we got there for shakes and showed them the Chocolate Bear candy shop).  We had dinners with Amos's extended family and played dodgeball, volleyball, football, and games with them. The boys also played the annual basketball game. Unfortunately, Amos had a cold the whole time we were there and he got stung by a bee.  Besides that, we had a great time.

Blessing

We had Violet's baby blessing on Sunday, July 17th.  Amos gave a very nice blessing at church and then we came to our house for some refreshments.  Violet wore the dress that I wore at my blessing.  The kids sure made a big mess downstairs taking out all the toys, but it was sure fun.
