Volcano

Violet gave Jace a present when he visited us at the hospital. It had a volcano kit and a search and find book. Jace had fun making and painting the volcano and then making it erupt.  The kit also came with a couple of rocks and a geode to break open.  Jace kept telling me to look at the beautiful crystals inside his geode.

Welcoming Violet!

Violet Zoey Mayne was born on June 2, 2016 at 7:41 am.  She was 7 lbs. 1 oz. 20 inches long.  My water broke about 11 pm the night before.  I called my mom and she drove over to stay the night with Jace while we went to the hospital.  My labor wasn't as smooth as with Jace.  My blood pressure dropped a few times and I had to use oxygen the whole time.  I passed out after she was born and had to get some blood pressure medicine from the anesthesiologist. Violet had jaundice and was so sleepy.  We had a hard time the first couple of days even waking her up to eat.  Luckily, she started eating and didn't have to get the UV lights for jaundice.  She is such a sweetie!  Jace was so excited to add her to our family.  When he got to the hospital, he told her he loved her and that she was so cute.  He likes to hold her, kiss her, and do tummy time with her.  He is the best big brother!
