Jace turned sixteen months today. He still isn't walking. He likes to walk holding onto our fingers. If we even let go of one hand he won't walk anymore. He stands there and fusses or he sits down. Sometimes I wonder if he will ever walk. He likes to walk with the walker toys and along furniture too. The amazing thing about Jace is that last week he started counting to ten! He always skips 9 though. He also knows tons of animal sounds, body parts, and a couple of shapes. He likes to flip things upside down and make this noise that Amos makes when he flips toys over too (it sounds kind of like oh oh oh oh). He copies sounds we make and words we say which is funny. He loves being outside, going on walks, and going to the playground. He says "stroller walk" when he wants to go for a walk. He likes the slide, spinning toys, and wobble wobbles (wobbly steps and wobbly bridge). He knows his name and other people's names now. He says our neighbors' names (Covey, Finn, and Julia) and some family members (Superman, Grandma Karen, Grandpa Mayne, Grandpa Craig, and Grandma Mayne). He comes up to me and says "hug" and gives me a hug. He also likes to hug his stuffed animals, the floor, his blankie, food, and his toys. He likes to tell Amos to come tackle him by saying "get me" or putting his hand to his chest and smiling at him. He likes Amos to throw him onto the Lovesac. I haven't been taking my camera with me lately so I don't have pictures of him doing these things. He still likes going to the pool and splashpad. He loves going up and down the stairs when we go somewhere that has them. I guess it's because we don't have any in our house. He is a great sleeper. He is going to bed around 7:30 and hasn't been wanting to get out of bed until 8:30-9:00 in the morning. It is awesome! He likes doing things FAST. He says fast as he kicks his legs, crawls, claps, and spins things. Last week was the first week he no longer wanted to be swaddled before bed. He can now wipe his face and his tray after meal times. He also helps put toys away now. He says "sorry" if he gets hurt or bumps into something or someone. Jace loves playing with the phone, holding it up to his ear, and saying hello (which sounds like e-o). When he doesn't like something we are doing or trying to get him to do he says, "Hey, hey, hey" until we stop. He got that from us saying that to him, which is funny to me. He likes to watch the PV (t.v.). He crawls over near it and says "show" when he wants to watch. He says "yummy" when he is eating good food and to be silly when he is putting things like a ball, keys, or shoe in his mouth. He also says "help" a lot when he needs help with something like turning his toy walker around or getting a toy out of the toy box.
