State Fair
We went to the State Fair last weekend. We went to the little farm place where the kids get to milk a cow, pick an apple, plant a seed, ride a tractor, get an egg, and etc. Then we went on the big, yellow slide. Jace did not like it, but we made him go on it a couple of times because we had already bought the tickets...poor kid. We went into a building with different reptiles, and then went to see the other animals. I was disappointed that they didn't have the kid's curiosity building that they had last year. It was so cute, and it had bubbles, blocks, and other fun things for kids. I thought Jace would be the perfect age to have fun in there this year. We looked at some booths, then we got some fry bread (a fair tradition for me) and went home.

Labor Day
On Labor Day we went to Thanksgiving Point with Amos's mom. We went to the gardens and rented a golf cart to ride around in. Then we had a very nice dinner at a restaurant there.

Night Out Against Crime
Our city had a Night Out Against Crime last week. They had a fire truck, ambulance, police car, hummer, and helicopter that you could look in and sit in. We got to see the helicopter take off from the field. They also had a k-9 dog show. Also, they provided hot dogs, chips, drinks, and balloon animals. I didn't know there would be food so we ate dinner before we left. Our next door neighbors, Covey and Finn, came with us.
We let Jace watch a show before bedtime one night.
Jace looking handsome in his church clothes and reading Romeo and Juliet. He picks books off of our bookshelf until he finds this exact one. He pretends to read it or walks around saying, "Juliet, Juliet."

Lagoon
Last Saturday was Amos's work Lagoon Day. We took Jace first thing in the morning. We didn't really know what to expect because Jace didn't like rides at Chuck E. Cheese earlier in the year or this ride I put him in at Jiffy Lube. Luckily, he seemed to enjoy himself. I rode a jeep ride with him first. He held on tight to me and kept saying, "Fast." Then we went on a pirate ship ride and a dragon roller coaster. I don't think he liked the roller coaster, but he didn't cry. After that, we decided to see if he would go on a ride by himself so we put him on a boat ride. He really liked this ride. He rode it again later in the day. We also went on the carousel and the train in the morning. Amos's work provided lunch so we ate lunch at a pavilion and then walked around Pioneer Village. We decided to take him home for a nap. After his nap, we took him to Cooper Hemphill's first birthday party. We stayed for about an hour. He got a balloon motorcycle from the clown. Then we took him back to Lagoon. We rode the boat and train again with Amos's family (Lucian works at E-trade too). A nice lady gave Jace a blow up bat that she won from a game but didn't want. Then we put him on a car track ride with Talan. He did not like it when they put the seat belt on him, but once the ride started to go he was fine. Amos wanted to put him on this airplane ride with Talan, but I thought it would be too scary for him. He cried the whole time! It was sad. Then he didn't want to ride anything else the rest of the time, even the boats he loved. He was tired and fussy so we got a small treat and then took him home for bed. My brother came over after bed time to watch our baby monitor so we could go back and ride the big roller coasters for a date night. It was really fun. We rode the big roller coaster, The Spider, Wicked, Colossus, the sky tram (which I am scared of), Samurai, and The Rocket. Unfortunately, after the Samurai I didn't feel too well. Amos and I have noticed over the past year that we can't handle some motions like spinning without getting sick. I guess it comes with age? Bummer for us. Overall it was a busy, hot, and super fun day!
