Dinoland at City Creek

The last Friday that I had off work we went to City Creek with my friend Jen Perry and her kids.  I didn't know that in the food court they had a little dinosaur play area.  Amos came for a little while before he had to go to work. When we got there, Santa was there with no one waiting in line to see him.  We decided to have Jace go visit him.  We didn't pay for pictures because we knew Jace wouldn't sit on his lap willingly.  Jace just stood next to him and gave him a high five.  When Santa asked what he wanted for Christmas, we told Jace to say toys.  He said it.  Then he just repeated everything Santa said to him.  Santa asked him if he liked cars and Jace said cars.  Santa asked if he liked race cars so he said race cars.  Santa asked him if he likes Lightning McQueen so Jace said McQueen.  Then Santa gave him a little book and Jace gave him and Mrs. Claus another high five.  It was cute. Then we went and played on the dinosaurs.  Jace liked the slide and this little egg he could climb in.  After, we had lunch and he got his first ever kid's meal (from Chik-fil-a).

Thanksgiving

We had Thanksgiving with Amos's family this year.  We went to Grandpa Mayne's on Thanksgiving, Grandma Mayne's on Friday, and an extended family on Wednesday.  All the food was delicious.  The only pictures we have are from Lucian.  Thanks Lucian for taking pictures for us.

Friendsgiving

We have gotten together with friends for the past few years to do a Thanksgiving dinner.  These friends used to all live in our neighborhood but now several of them have moved on. They all have kids and it is fun to see our kids play together.

Spaghetti

Every kid needs a spaghetti all over the face picture, right?

Discovery Gateway

Our first trip to a children's museum was to Discovery Gateway.  Jace had so much fun!  He loved the area where you get to put balls down tubes or in tubes that suck the balls up and away.  He also loved the water table area.  He played with a boat in the water for a long time.  He also drove some cars, sat on a horse, played in a construction zone, made some music, and played on the ramp in the little kid play area.  We will definitely go again sometime.

Halloween

Jace was Mickey Mouse for Halloween this year.  I dressed up as Minnie and Amos was Goofy.  The night before Halloween we went to a trunk or treat at the church.  Jace wasn't really interested in the candy as much as walking around in his costume and looking at everyone else.  He did want a doughnut when we went into the church later.  I took him to school for our Halloween parade. He liked seeing all the kids in their costumes.  He loved dressing up in his costume.  All through October he would ask me to put his Mickey pants on.  Then he would pat his bum and say, "Big bum."  On Halloween night we had pizza and then went trick or treating.  At first it was hard to get Jace to go up to people's doors to get candy.  He just wanted to walk around in his costume.  He started to like picking a candy out of the bowl and running back to his stroller to put the candy in his pumpkin bucket.  We didn't go to too many houses- just some neighbors that we know.  When we got home I gave him his first Twix.  His eyes lit up as he made the Mmmmm sound.

Broken Computer

Our computer broke before Halloween so I haven't been able to update the blog.  Hopefully I will get caught up now that we have a new computer.  Jace is 21 months old right now.  He is so smart.  He can count to 20, knows the capital letters and most of the lower case letters, and can sing (say) the ABC song.  Of course, he does miss a few letters, but that is still pretty amazing.  I wanted to remember that we bought him a helium filled star balloon, and every time he grabbed the string of the balloon, he said he was holding hands with the balloon.  It was so cute. He also calls the color orange, oranges.  And when he says the word two, he calls it twos. Right now he loves to play tackle and helicopter Jace.  That is when Amos has him by the ankles and swings him around his body in circles.  Jace is so fun-loving.  Every time I tell him we are going to a party, or someone's house, or to do an activity, he gets so excited.  He likes to be social.  On Sunday when I was getting him dressed for church he said, "Church sweater...brown one...super cute."  What a cutie!
